Publication Requirement

The Institute's Graduate Education and Examination Regulation has been amended and was published in the Official Gazette dated June 5, 2023, and numbered 32212.

The publication requirement prior to the doctoral/art proficiency thesis defense exam does not apply to students in the last semester of the maximum doctoral/art proficiency period.

DOCTORATE

Before the Doctoral Thesis Defense Exam

43/2: Before the doctoral thesis is submitted to the thesis advisor for opinion to be defended, the student must have fulfilled at least one of the following conditions approved by the department chair regarding the doctoral thesis work:

  • For students in the Basic Field of Engineering and the scientific fields of Biology, Physics, and Chemistry, at least one original research article published, accepted for publication, or in the peer-review process in journals within SCI, SCI-Expanded, SSCI, or AHCI; for students in other fields, at least one original research article published, accepted for publication, or in the peer-review process in journals within SCI, SCI-Expanded, SSCI, ESCI, AHCI, Scopus, or TR-Dizin.
  • Having filed a patent or utility model application related to the doctoral thesis, or having obtained a design registration.

ART PROFICIENCY

Before the Conclusion of the Art Proficiency Work

53/2: Before defending the art proficiency thesis/work, the student must have fulfilled at least one of the following conditions approved by the department of fine arts chair regarding the thesis/work:

  • Having participated in fairs, exhibitions, workshops, practices, screenings, symposiums, biennials, or triennials with works in the field of architecture, design, and art.
  • At least one original research article published, accepted for publication, or in the peer-review process in journals within SCI, SCI-Expanded, SSCI, ESCI, AHCI, Scopus, or TR-Dizin, produced from the art proficiency thesis/work.
  • Having filed a patent or utility model application related to the art proficiency thesis/work, or having obtained a design registration.
