Graduation Requirements

Master’s Degree with Thesis

The Master’s degree with thesis program consists of at least eight courses, including a seminar course, provided that the total is not less than 60 ECTS credits, and a minimum total of 120 ECTS credits, including at least 60 ECTS credits from a compulsory specialization field course and thesis study.

In addition to these eight courses, it is mandatory to take at least one course during graduate education covering Scientific Research Techniques and Research and Publication Ethics.

The seminar course, specialization field course, and thesis study are evaluated with letter grades Pass (YT) or Fail (YZ). A student cannot take more than 60 ECTS credits in a single semester.

In order for a student to be considered successful, they must receive a grade of Pass (YT), CC, or higher in all courses taken and achieve a minimum CGPA of 2.50.


Master’s Degree without Thesis

The Master’s degree without thesis program consists of at least ten courses and a term project course, provided that the total is not less than 60 ECTS credits.

The student is required to register for the term project course in the semester in which it is taken and to submit a written report at the end of the semester. The term project course is non-credit and is evaluated with letter grades Pass (YT) or Fail (YZ). A student cannot take more than 60 ECTS credits in a single semester.

In order for a student to be considered successful, they must receive a grade of Pass (YT), CC, or higher in all courses taken and achieve a minimum CGPA of 2.50.


PhD

The PhD program consists of, for students admitted with a Master’s degree, at least eight courses, including one seminar course, provided that the total is not less than 60 ECTS credits, a qualification examination and thesis proposal, and a minimum total of 240 ECTS credits, including at least 180 ECTS credits from specialization field course and thesis study.

For students admitted with a Bachelor’s degree, the program consists of at least fifteen courses, including one seminar course, with a minimum of 120 ECTS credits, a qualification examination and thesis proposal, and a minimum total of 300 ECTS credits, including at least 180 ECTS credits from specialization field course and thesis study.

In the PhD program, a student cannot take more than 60 ECTS credits in a single semester.

In order for a student to be considered successful, they must receive a grade of Pass (YT), CC, or higher in all courses taken and achieve a minimum CGPA of 3.00.


Proficiency in Art

The Proficiency in Art program consists of, for students admitted with a Master’s degree, at least eight courses, including one seminar course, provided that the total is not less than 60 ECTS credits, a qualification examination and thesis proposal, and a minimum total of 240 ECTS credits, including at least 180 ECTS credits from specialization field course and practical studies such as thesis, exhibition, project, recital, concert, and performance.

For students admitted with a Bachelor’s degree, the program consists of at least fifteen courses, including one seminar course, with a minimum of 120 ECTS credits, a qualification examination and thesis proposal, and a minimum total of 300 ECTS credits, including at least 180 ECTS credits from specialization field course and practical studies such as thesis, exhibition, project, recital, concert, and performance.

In the Proficiency in Art program, a student cannot take more than 60 ECTS credits in a single semester.

In order for a student to be considered successful, they must receive a grade of Pass (YT), CC, or higher in all courses taken and achieve a minimum CGPA of 3.00.
